🚨 HEALTH ALERT: RAW SEWAGE IN GEORGES CREEK 🚨
Raw sewage is entering Georges Creek between Shaft and Westernport, affecting the Potomac River downstream.
⚠️ Do NOT drink, fish, swim, or have contact with Georges Creek or the impacted Potomac section.
✅ Westernport’s water is safe. It comes from the Savage River Dam—not connected to Georges Creek.
🛠️ DAMAGE ASSESSMENT TEAMS RETURN – SATURDAY, JUNE 28
Supported by Allegany County & Maryland VOAD
📍 Teams will go door-to-door conducting in-depth flood damage assessments to guide long-term recovery.
🕙 Time: 10 AM – 4 PM
📋 Teams will carry official ID badges

📱 FLOOD RECOVERY APPLICATION HELP – IPADS AVAILABLE AT TOWN HALL
Residents impacted by the May 13 flood can fill out the Unified Flood Recovery Application online.
✅ If you do not have internet access or a computer, iPads are available at Town Hall for you to use.

💧 WATER RATE INCREASE STARTS JULY 1, 2025
Water rate is increasing from $4.00 → $5.50 per 1,000 gallons used.

CLOSURE NOTICE: JULY 4–7
The Town Office and Street Department will be closed July 4–7 for Independence Day.
We reopen Tuesday, July 8.
