Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a June 27 shooting incident following an investigation.
On June 27, at approximately 4:05 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 200 block of Stroud Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a 23-year-old female gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The case was assigned to Detective John O’Connor of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective O’Connor identified 25-year-old Lamir Crews as a suspect. Later that day, Crews was taken into custody without incident.
Crews has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $100,000 cash-only bail.
