Torrential downpours can bring a quick inch or more of rainfall, resulting in poor drainage / roadway flooding.
Excessive Heat
Any showers still around this morning will depart, and then we will have a window for outdoor plans. The heat and high humidity clash with an approaching front, sparking off storms afternoon into evening. High rainfall rates will be the main concern as a quick inch or more would be able to easily overwhelm drains, leading to poor drainage / roadway flooding. Also a few storms can be severe with strong winds. The front does not entirely clear our area tonight, and there will be additional showers or simply a period of rain to contend with tomorrow morning. Things improve late morning into midday, even if a much shorter lived and more isolated pop-up can return. Thursday most stay dry, with just a minimal PM pop-up risk. Friday is great for the Fourth of July, with the weekend having high pressure hold on.
