Borough Council Meeting, Tuesday 7/1
The Mayor and Council hold their regularly scheduled meetings pursuant to the provisions of the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b). Meetings are held in person at Borough Hall, 221 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ at 7:00 pm. As a convenience, the Borough provides the public the option to attend meetings remotely through Zoom. The meeting agenda and support materials are posted in Borough Hall and on the Borough website at least 48 hours before the scheduled meeting.
Fireworks in the Park, Thursday, 7/3
Join your neighbors and celebrate Independence Day. Festival starts at 6:00 pm with face painting, kids games, music, and food vendors. Fireworks begin at 9:15 pm. Raindate is Sunday, July 6th. We hope to see you in Donaldson Park!
Parkstock Music Festival
Highland Park’s popular outdoor concert series is back on Thursday nights at Donaldson Park, Grove 1.from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Select food vendors will be on site.

The Borough has a Gas Leaf Blower (GLB) Task Force composed of members from the Borough Council, the Board of Health, Sustainable Highland Park and the Environmental Commission. The GLB Task Force is exploring community concerns or issues related to gas powered leaf blowers, as are the State Legislature and other communities throughout New Jersey. They are all interested in healthier, cleaner and quieter landscaping options. The GLB Task Force held one public information session at the Library and is planning additional public meetings. Free Groceries from H.P. Gives a Hoot, Tuesdays 7/1, 7/8, 7/15 7/22, 7/29 and Wednesdays 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support. Distributions are every Tuesday & Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
Food Pantry Distribution, Thursdays 7/10 & 7/24 & Saturdays 7/12 & 7/26
The Highland Park Food Pantry distribution takes place at the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Avenue on the second and fourth Thursdays from 9:00 – 10:45 am and 6:00 – 7:00 pm and on the second and fourth Saturdays Thursdays from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult, youth and summer programs. Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the Borough.
Farmers Market
The Highland Park Farmers Market is, bringing fresh, local, homemade products from farmers and vendors across New Jersey. The market is open every Friday through December 12; from 11:00 am to 4 :00 pm in February, March, November, and December; and until 5:00 pm from April through October. Shop for farm-fresh produce, baked goods, artisanal products, and more while supporting local businesses and enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere.
