WEATHER ALERT: STORMS TODAY/TONIGHT BRING INCREASED RISK FOR FLOODING, SOME GUSTY WINDS
A few pop up showers/storms can begin developing over the next hour or so, similar to yesterday's risk. Given the airmass is still quite humid and hot, and with an incoming cold front late afternoon, there is an elevated risk for flooding issues to occur, along with pockets of strong wind gusts. Downpours will be torrential, capable of high rates and producing quick 1-2" in spots. Should any see repeat rounds of downpours, mainly as the front comes through, localized 3"+ is possible and would lead to some higher end flooding impacts. While not the main focus, storms can also turn strong enough to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 50 mph. Coverage of storms tapers early evening, but can still linger overnight and into early Wednesday, though with a more isolated flooding risk.
