NJDEP to host virtual meeting on July 7 for Marin Blvd closure
The NJDEP will host a virtual community meeting on July 7 at 6 p.m. to discuss its next phase of construction in southern Hoboken, which will necessitate the closure of Marin Boulevard/Henderson Street between 18th Street in Jersey City and Observer Highway in Hoboken starting in July.
The full closure is necessary due to the location of the Resist structure’s gate crossing in the roadway as well as related site work, including the foundation work and micropile installation, and the size of the equipment needed to perform the construction. Additionally, the NJDEP work has scheduled construction to be conducted at the same time as NJ Transit’s flood prevention work for the Long Slip Fill and Rail Enhancement project in order to reduce the need for future closures of Henderson Street.
During the meeting, the NJDEP will present traffic mitigation and construction plans to the community.

The RBDH project is a comprehensive flood protection system designed to safeguard portions of Hoboken, Jersey City, and Weehawken against storm surge while integrating flood-resistant infrastructure with new community amenities. In southern Hoboken, the Resist structure will be integrated into the urban landscape taking the form of wayfinding signage, planters, seating, public art, and more.
