INCIDENT: Failure to Yield, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
LOCATION: Standing Rock Road and Joshua Street, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): 17-year-old male, Apple Valley Resident
SUMMARY: On Monday, June 30, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., deputies with the Apple Valley Multiple Enforcement Team initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Standing Rock Road and Joshua Street. The driver, a 17-year-old male, failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the juvenile failed to stop for posted stop signs and eventually came to a stop near the intersection of Ramona Avenue and Lynn Road.
Field sobriety tests were conducted on the juvenile, and he was found to be intoxicated. The juvenile was cited for the failure to yield and driving under the influence of alcohol. The juvenile was released into the custody of his guardian.
