Berkeley Police Department – 4th of July Safety Reminder
The Berkeley Police Department would like to remind everyone to celebrate the 4th of July safely and responsibly.
All fireworks are illegal in Berkeley — this includes those labeled “safe and sane.” If you witness fireworks being discharged, do not call 911 unless there is an immediate emergency. Instead, report fireworks activity to the non-emergency dispatch line at (510) 981-5900.
Increased Patrols:
Berkeley PD will have additional officers on patrol throughout the city to address fireworks-related safety concerns, provide education, and help prevent illegal activity.
Shorebird Park Closure:
Shorebird Park at the Berkeley Marina is closed daily from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Road Closures:
Some areas in Berkeley will have road closures in effect for the 4th of July. For full details, please refer to the official City of Berkeley press release.
