| Narrative: |
Thousand Oaks, Calif. – On June 28th, 2025, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held at E. Hillcrest Drive east of N. Conejo School Road from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM and then Erbes Road south of La Granada Drive from 10:30 PM to 2:00 AM.
A total of 279 drivers were contacted. Three drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with license violations and six drivers were cited for other vehicle code violations. Two drivers were arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
