The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 4 PM Friday to 1 AM AKDT Saturday.

* AFFECTED AREA...White Mountains and High Terrain South of the Yukon River, Upper Chena River Valley and Chatanika River Valley.

* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 10 PM AKDT this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 4 PM Friday to 1 AM AKDT Saturday.

* WINDS...For the first Red Flag Warning, Northeast 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph. For the second Red Flag Warning, Northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* HUMIDITY...As low as 24 percent. Poor relative humidity recovery expected Friday night.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the mid to upper 80s. Lows in the mid 50s, except in the low 60s over ridgetops.

* IMPACTS...Rapid ignition, growth and spread of fires will be possible. Hot, dry, and windy conditions may lead to rapid spread of fires.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northeast winds will increase Friday evening and continue through the night into Saturday morning. Poor relative humidity recovery above the valley floors expected Friday night. Saturday will be the hottest day of this stretch of fire weather concerns with highs near 90.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WHITE MOUNTAINS AND HIGH TERRAIN SOUTH OF THE YUKON RIVER ... UPPER CHENA RIVER VALLEY ... CHATANIKA RIVER VALLEY
