Missing Person Investigation: Marissa DiNapoli

We wanted to share an update with you regarding the case of missing 18-year-old Marissa DiNapoli.
We are devasted to inform you that Marissa’s body was found last night, July 2, 2025. The Santa Clara County Coroner confirmed her identity today, July 3, 2025.
This is not the outcome any of us wanted and we are heartbroken by this news. Marissa’s was a vibrant member of our Morgan Hill community with a bright future ahead of her.
To Marissa’s family, our arms are around you. Our whole Department is here to support you during this unimaginable time.
As we continue to investigate Marissa’s death, we do want to recap what we know so far and what next steps look like. Please know because this is still an active investigation, there is information that we cannot share at this time. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work and as we make every effort to uphold the integrity of this investigation.
On June 30, 2025, Marissa DiNapoli was reported missing to the Morgan Hill Police Department. Marissa last communicated with family members via text message on June 28 at 9:16 p.m. In that message, she indicated that she planned to stay with a friend for the evening and would return home the following day. When she did not return home or respond to calls from family members, she was reported missing on June 30th.
Detectives were assigned to investigate and determined Marissa was last seen on June 29th at approximately 9:45 a.m. and was observed to be in the company of Martin Mendoza. They were seen leaving a residence on Trail Drive, just outside the city limits of Morgan Hill. Marissa’s car was later located in the same area.
Since we were made aware of Marissa’s disappearance, over 30 investigators have been working on this case. This includes the District Attorney’s Office, the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, the FBI, Homeland Security, Santa Clara County Task Forces, and Santa Clara County Crime lab and more.
We also want to note that while Martin Mendoza is still considered a person of interest in this case, we are actively seeking out other leads as well. Should anyone have any information, please contact Detective Kyle Tolentino at (669)-253-4962.
