HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Central Quay County. Flash flooding will impact Barranca Creek downstream to the Route 278 and I-40 crossings.
* AFFECTED AREAS: QUAY, NM
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.
