Police Investigate Drive-by Shooting

HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – July 5, 2025 - The Hollister Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that resulted in a 15-year-old young man with injuries.

On Friday, July 4, 2025, officers from the Hollister Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of San Benito Street following reports of a drive-by shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 15-year-old male who had sustained a head injury, likely caused by shattered glass from a vehicle that had received several gunshots. Emergency responders confirmed that a total of three individuals were affected during the incident. Fortunately, although the injuries are serious, no life-threatening injuries were reported among the juvenile victim and the other two victims who were present during the shooting.

Initial witness statements indicated that shots were fired from a grey Nissan Altima toward a group of individuals standing near a dark blue Chevrolet pickup truck parked in a driveway. The residence was immediately cleared with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to ensure no additional victims were inside.  An alert was sent out to all surrounding agencies about the suspect vehicle.

Officers thoroughly processed the scene and canvassed the neighborhood for additional information. Based on the investigation, including intelligence support and video footage from neighboring homes, detectives identified the suspect vehicle as a white sedan with dark-tinted windows.  The corrected description was broadcast to surrounding agencies.  The suspect remains at large at this time.
The Hollister Police Department would like to thank our allied agencies, especially the California Highway Patrol, for their rapid response and assistance to this call.

The case remains active, and investigators are continuing to follow up on leads.  Anyone with any information on the identity of the person who committed this cowardly act is asked to call the Hollister Police Department at 636-4330.  Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME.
