Severe Weather Alert – Flash Flooding & Storms July 7–9

The National Weather Service is forecasting multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms through Wednesday evening. The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Chantal are expected to bring 2 to 5 inches of rain to our region, with the highest risk occurring from 10 AM to 10 PM today and continuing through Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

⚠️ Flash flooding is possible with little warning. Do NOT drive through flooded roadways or around barricades. It only takes a few inches of water to lose control of your vehicle.

⚠️ Be alert for sudden road closures and emergency activity.

🌡️ High heat and humidity will also impact the area. Heat indices may reach 100°–105° on Tuesday. A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of our region.

🏛️ Township Offices will be closing early today, Monday July 7, at 2:30 PM.

The Office of Emergency Management is fully operational with Fire Chief Lynch (OEM Director), Mayor Marathe, Business Administrator Schmid, HR Director Giblin, Public Works Director Esposito, and Police Chief Garofalo coordinating storm preparedness and response.

Police, Fire, and Public Works remain on 24/7 readiness.
