Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted male juvenile on gun charges following an investigation.

Beginning in June, members of the Gun Intelligence Unit have been conducting an investigation into a 15-year-old male juvenile for illegal firearm possession. On July 2, at approximately 7:38 p.m., police were in the 2800 block of West 2^nd Street, when they observed the wanted 15-year-old male juvenile. Police made contact with the 15-year-old male juvenile and took him into custody without incident. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in that block and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.

The 15-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:

• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
• Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
