On June 26, 2025, at 8:38 p.m. Deputy Shawn Holmes conducted a traffic stop on a White 2015 Chevy Traverse on Ohio Street near Gibson Street.  Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Holmes detected multiple clues that the driver 38-year-old Whitney Ellis of Princeton was intoxicated.  At that point Deputy Holmes began a roadside DUI investigation.  At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Holmes placed Ms. Ellis into custody and transported her to the Gibson County Detention Center where she was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana.
 
Deputy Holmes was assisted by Princeton Officers Bryce Jutzi, and Matthew Perry.  Deputies Eric Powell and Bart Wagner also assisted in the investigation. 
 
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
