Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile on gun charges.

On July 4, at approximately 9:40 p.m., police were in the area of Justison Street and Harlan Boulevard, when they observed a male subject setting off fireworks. Police made contact with a 17-year-old male juvenile, who was found to be in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun. The 17-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody without incident.

The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Disorderly Conduct
