Wilmington Partners in Care Program issues latest progress report:

The Wilmington Partners in Care Program is pleased to share its latest progress report, which captures data and explores the impact of this program between April 1 and June 30, 2025.

A partnership between the Wilmington Police Department and ChristianaCare, the Wilmington Partners in Care Program pairs trained mental health clinicians with police officers, who respond as a team to calls for service and conduct proactive outreach to support those in need in our community. Our program was launched in March 2024, and presently includes a case manager and two clinicians.

As this program continues in its second year, our team is also being supported by a dedicated member of the ChristianaCare Substance Overdose Support (SOS) team, a peer who is working alongside our clinicians and case manager to support those suffering from substance use challenges and who is also assisting with wound care referrals.

During the second quarter of the year – from April 1 through June 30 – the Wilmington Partners in Care team provided services to a total of 198 individuals – including 113 new clients and 85 individuals who had previously been receiving support from the program.

Since the inception of this initiative in March 2024 – the program has provided services to a total of 543 individuals in Wilmington.

“As we move further into the second year of this program’s operation, we are proud to highlight the continued positive impact that our team has been able to have throughout Wilmington,” said Chief Wilfredo Campos. “We appreciate the continued dedication of this team and the support of our partners at ChristianaCare, and look forward to providing support to more Wilmingtonians in the months to come.”

The progress report issued today includes data from the program’s operations over the past several months, as well as details about the types of support that the clinicians and case manager have provided. We will continue to issue quarterly progress reports as the program continues its work in the community.
