Pomona Police Investigate Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision

INCIDENT: FATAL HIT AND RUN TRAFFIC COLLISION

DATE/TIME: Monday, June 30, 2025, 1:12 AM

LOCATION: Monterey Ave and Eleanor St

UNIT: Traffic Services Bureau

VICTIM: Adult-Male (name withheld pending notification) 
 

On Monday, June, 30 2025, at approximately 1:12 AM, Pomona Police Officers responded to the area of Monterey Ave & Eleanor St regarding a vehicle vs. bicyclist hit and run traffic collision. Responding officers arrived on scene and located the bicyclist laying in the roadway suffering from severe injuries.  First responders performed life saving measures and immediately tranported the bicyclist to a local hospital for advanced medical care.  Unfortunately, the bicyclist succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene after the collision and was not located.  The suspect vehicle is described as a gray 4-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima or similar.

This crash is being investigated by the Pomona Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.  Anyone with information about this collision is encouraged to call the Pomona Police Department's Traffic Services Bureau at (909) 802-7741 or (909) 620-2048.
