Montgomery Township Police Department has been made aware that scammers are using our main phone number (908-359-3222) to falsely identify themselves as MTPD officers. This is known as caller ID spoofing.

These individuals may claim you are under investigation or demand personal information or payment. This is a scam. The Montgomery Township Police Department will never request money, payment over the phone, or sensitive personal information in this manner.

If you receive a suspicious call:

• Do not provide any information.
• Hang up immediately.
• Call MTPD directly at 908-359-3222 to confirm legitimacy or to report the incident.

Please share this message with friends, family, and neighbors—especially seniors—who may be targeted.
