Leonia will be undergoing several road improvements projects this summer. 
 
Veolia and Verizon will be upgrading their systems. 

• July / August 2025:  Verizon will be installing Fiber Optic Cable around Vreeland Ave, Birch Lane, Glenwood Ave, Golf Course Drive and Pine Hill Road.  DPW will inspect this work to ensure that lawns and sidewalks are repaired properly.
• Starting July & ongoing: Veolia will selectively replace lead pipes – we expect this disruption to be on selected sidewalks.  DPW will inspect the work to ensure that sidewalks are repaired properly.

Roadwork.  There are three projects scheduled in the Borough (dependent on weather conditions).  The Leonia Police Department will send out traffic alerts for these areas as necessary.

• Beechwood Avenue
  • Pedestrian Ramp: Saturday, July 12
  • Milling and Paving: Wednesday, July 23
• Broad Avenue (Lakeview to Hillside): 
  • Milling: Monday, July 21 and Tuesday July 22
  • Paving: Wednesday, July 23 
  • The off ramp from I-95 onto Broad Avenue will be closed for 4 days around this time.
• Fort Lee Road (Broad Avenue to Hoefley’s Lane)
  • Construction Dates: Monday, July 28 to Friday, August 8
  • Milling & Paving:  TBD, but expected mid to late August
