San Leandro Police Make Arrest in First Homicide of the Year

San Leandro, CA - SLPD detectives from the Crimes against Persons Unit and Crime Suppression Unit have made an arrest in connection with the homicide of 47-year-old Ryan Christie of San Leandro.
On June 14th, 2025, around 8:23 AM, patrol officers responded to the area of Euclid Avenue and East 14th Street to ascertain the welfare of a subject on the ground. Officers found an unresponsive male, later identified as Christie, with his pet dog still leashed to his hand. Christie was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. It was determined Christie had suffered a single gunshot wound to his back, likely around 11 PM the previous night.
Investigators were able to develop leads and identify 49-year-old Andre Williams of San Leandro as the suspect in the homicide.
On July 7th, 2025, Williams was taken into custody at an apartment complex in the 2700 block of Pavilion Parkway in Tracy, CA. Subsequent search warrants were executed at 2 separate residences associated with Williams where additional evidence was recovered.
Earlier today, Williams was formally charged with murder by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
