El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from June 29th – July 5th

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito June 29th to July 5th

June 29th
Vandalism – 11344 San Pablo Ave. (Denny’s):
At 2:36 AM, an officer reports two suspects entered the business and became impatient with staff. The suspects threw some of the business’s property against the wall before fleeing the area prior to police arrival.

June 30th
Driving Under the Influence – Carlson Blvd. / Lassen St.
At 1:26 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the DUI investigation, officers found the driver to be under the influence. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend.

Forgery – 5200 block of School St.
At 9:17 AM, the victim reports a family member fraudulently cashed checks that belonged to the victim.

Identity Theft – 1300 block of Navellier St.
At 11:21 AM, an officer reports a suspect stole the victim’s check and fraudulently cashed it.

Warrant Arrest – Richmond St. / Moeser Ln.
At 7:45 AM, a officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the driver to have an active warrant.  The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Theft – 11785 San Pablo Ave. (Launderland):
At 3:30 PM, an officer reports a suspect stole a laundry cart.

July 1st
Stolen License Plates – 5600 block of El Dorado Ave.
At 1:19 PM, the victim reported their license plate was stolen from their motorcycle sometime overnight.  

Criminal Threats – 6510 Stockton Ave. (El Cerrito Library):
At 1:58 PM, when an employee asked the suspect to leave the library, the suspect threatened to harm the employee.  The suspect left the area on foot prior to police arrival.  

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Lane.
At 8:50 PM an officer made a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the driver had a warrant from Santa Cruz County. The suspect was arrested, cited, and released on scene.

July 2nd
Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Brighton Ave.
At 9:19 AM an officer made a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the driver to have a warrant from San Jose Police Department. The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.  

July 3rd
Nothing to report.

July 4th
Battery – 5800 block of Alta Punta Ave.
At 8:45 PM, officers responded to the residence for a physical fight between family members. The parties were separated, the suspected was placed under arrest, and the victims received medical attention. The suspect was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.

Vandalism – Arlington Blvd. / Thor’s Bay Rd.
At 9:58 PM, officers were notified by El Cerrito Fire of a fire on the tennis courts of Arlington Park. The suspect was transported to the Police Department for booking and released with a citation.
