Patchy dense fog will continue to develop near and south of Interstate 80 this morning. Visibility may range from a few miles to less than one quarter of a mile over short distances, leading to hazardous driving conditions. Visibility worsens along and south of the Kankakee River Valley, where a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9 AM. If traveling this morning, be prepared for rapid changes in visibilities over very short distances, make sure to slow down, and keep plenty of stopping distance between yourself and other vehicles. If visibilities down to one quarter mile become widespread across the Special Weather Statement area, the Dense Fog Advisory currently to the south may be expanded.
