Concert in the Park rescheduled

Due to possible thunderstorms this evening, tonight's Swingadelic concert at Sinatra Park has been rescheduled to Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.

Provide input for a new Jubilee Center Mural

The City of Hoboken’s Public Arts Administrator will host a public engagement session on Wednesday, July 16, at 7 p.m. in the ResilienCity Park Community Room, 1201 Madison St. to solicit public input for a new public mural to honor the founders of the Jubilee Center which will be located at 601 Jackson St.

During the public engagement session, City staff and members of the Hoboken Arts Advisory Committee will present information on the Public Art Program, and Public Art Master Plan, and the history of the Jubilee Center, followed by an open discussion for feedback on potential artistic direction.

The Jubilee Center, which was purchased by the City in 2021 to be utilized as a home for nonprofits and educational institutions, was originally founded in 1995 to help meet the social and economic needs of children and families by offering after-school programs during the school year for local youth.

The mural will be commissioned and paid for by the Public Arts Program as established by an executive order, signed by Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla establishing the Public Arts Trust.
