Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of June 30–July 6, 2025
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were two robberies during the past week.
On Saturday, 07-05-25, between approximately 11:00 a.m. and 11:37 a.m., at the intersection of Washington Street and Bryant Street, a victim stated that she was walking up and down the street for exercise when an unknown female suspect called her over to the passenger side of a tan sedan. The suspect asked the victim if she knew where a church was located nearby. As the victim was providing the location of the church, the suspect stated that her mother had passed away two years ago. The suspect then placed a $100 bill in the victim’s hand and fake gold jewelry around her wrist and neck. The victim tried to tell the suspect to stop and felt scared during the interaction. While the victim was distracted, the suspect managed to remove the victim’s gold bracelet, a gold-plated bracelet, and a gold necklace before fleeing the scene. The victim described the suspect as a darker-complexioned female, approximately 40 to 50 years old, with a medium build, approximately 5’5” tall, and wearing a dark green headscarf. The driver of the vehicle was described as a dark-complexioned male. This investigation is ongoing.
On Sunday, 07-06-25, at approximately 10:28 a.m., officers were dispatched to Cigarettes Cheaper on the unit block of Park Plaza Drive on a report of a burglary. An employee stated that the suspect entered the store and looked at the cigar case. The suspect asked the employee to open the cigar case, to which the employee replied by asking which specific cigar he was looking to purchase. The suspect did not respond and began walking up and down the store. This occurred three more times. The employee then told the suspect to leave the store, at which point the suspect became upset and threatened the employee. The employee feared for his life due to the threat and because the suspect was holding a large stick. After the threat, the suspect grabbed a lottery ticket, pushed over a lottery ticket case, and left the store without paying. Officers located the suspect at Glenwood Avenue and Northgate Avenue. The employee was driven to the suspect’s location and positively identified him. The suspect was arrested. The stolen lottery ticket and a roll of black tape containing methamphetamine were found in his possession. The suspect, a 38-year-old transient, was booked into jail for robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

There was one attempted residential burglary during the past week.
On Wednesday, 07-02-25, at approximately 7:21 a.m., a known suspect attempted to enter a residence on the 200 block of Warwick Street through a bathroom window. Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
