Police Seek Help Identifying Individual in Theft from Auto Incident
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying the male suspect pictured below in connection with a theft from an auto incident on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Two vehicles - one parked on West Runyon Street and the other on Ridgewood Avenue - were ransacked and their rear passenger windows had been shattered between 8 p.m. on July 6, 2025, and 7 a.m. on July 7, 2025.
Police officers responded to the incident and met with the victims, whose personal belongings were missing from their vehicles. They included a canvas bag from one vehicle and a non-working cell phone from the second vehicle. On surveillance video, a bald white male was seen walking toward and away from the cars. He wore a black shirt, blue shorts, and grey sneakers and had a backpack.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the individual’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
