Special Weather Statement until 07:00PM

At 632 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Ridgeland, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Ridgeland, Yemassee, Jasper, Coosawhatchie, Grahamville, Old House, Gillisonville, Switzerland, Pocotaligo and McPhersonville. This includes I-95 in South Carolina between mile markers 13 and 39.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HAMPTON ... INLAND JASPER ... BEAUFORT ... COASTAL JASPER

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
