SVRABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico... West Central Quay County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 315 AM MDT.

* At 227 AM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Newkirk, or 23 miles east of Santa Rosa, moving southeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include... Newkirk. This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 295 and 311.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GUADALUPE, NM ... QUAY, NM

Instructions:

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
