* Poor Drainage / Roadway Flooding in Storms Today - This Eve *
Threat Time: Through 12:00 AM Tuesday
Peak Risk: 4 - 11 PM
|
A few showers / downpours are building back into the region. This spotty & sporadic activity continues in this fashion for the next couple hours, before coverage grows and turns more numerous come late afternoon. The peak of numerous shower, storm and downpour activity looks to be approximately 4 - 11 PM, at which point our concern for flooding heightens. Storms and downpours will be torrential, with high rainfall rates that will quickly overwhelm drainage systems. As a result, watch for many areas of roadway flooding, centered around the evening rush. While a slightly lower chance, stream & creek flooding is still likely to occur in scattered locales. Any places where localized greater rainfall amounts of 2 - 3"+ are realized would see more significant issues. Activity tapers back this evening, with just a spotty shower overnight |
Instructions:
Avoid areas prone to flooding. DO NOT Drive through standing water. "Turn Around... Don't Drown". Seek indoor shelter as storms approach.
