CRANFORD OEM:  We are monitoring some potentially rough weather today in the late afternoon/early evening.  The peak risk for this storm is 4 PM through 11 PM today, July 14th, 2025.  Residents are encouraged to be weather-aware and take normal precautions, recognizing that certain areas in town experience flash flooding during heavy downpours.  

Our Township DPW has deployed portable pumps to Balmiere Parkway, cleared catch basins, and will continue to monitor river levels in accordance with storm management protocols listed on the Township's OEM page.

A few showers / downpours are building back into the region. This spotty & sporadic activity continues in this fashion for the next couple hours, before coverage grows and turns more numerous come late afternoon. The peak of numerous shower, storm and downpour activity looks to be approximately 4 - 11 PM. Storms and downpours will be torrential, with high rainfall rates that will quickly overwhelm drainage systems. As a result, watch for many areas of roadway flooding, centered around the evening rush. While a slightly lower chance, stream & creek flooding is still likely to occur in scattered locales. Any places where localized greater rainfall amounts of 2 - 3"+ are realized would see more significant issues. Activity tapers back this evening, with just a spotty shower overnight.
