The Shani Baraka Women’s Resource Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive services to meet the needs of women and their families in crisis and transition.

Located at 300 Clinton Avenue in Newark, the Center houses the Newark Police Special Victims Unit, which investigates domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, missing persons, and registers and tracks sexual offenders who are required to register with Newark Police under Megan’s Law.

The goal of the center is to provide support, care, protection, and empowerment for individuals of all ages in Newark. The center provides a myriad of programs and services facilitated by the City of Newark and its community partners. Many of these services are designed to target the cause of the crisis, not just the symptoms.
