Additionally, the California Highway Patrol will be hosting a bike rodeo for kids (bring your bikes and helmets if you have them). The Ventura County Fire Department will have a fire engine on display in the touch-a-truck area, and our City of Moorpark partners will have a tractor and a dump truck on display, as well as a Parks and Recreation booth for kids. Employees from our local Starbucks will be on site to provide free drinks and treats, Grocery Outlet will be providing a free BBQ hot dog dinner, and Grand Canyon University will be providing free Mister Softee ice cream to the first 200 guests. Moorpark Police Chief Nick Odenath said, “National Night Out highlights the partnership between Moorpark’s community members and it’s public safety members. It’s a celebration of shared responsibility, where trust is strengthened and public safety remains a priority. We look forward to seeing you on August 4th.” The City of Moorpark, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the Moorpark Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Ventura County Fire Department are committed to maintaining the safety of all residents by building community partnerships.
