Deputies Respond to a Report of a Burglary in Progress and Catch the Suspect at the Scene with Stolen Property

LOCATION: 8000 Block of Milliken Ave, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Rueben Rodriguez, Age 28, Resident of Ontario
VICTIM(S): Zendejas Mexican Grill
SUMMARY: On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 6:03 a.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for service reference a burglary in progress. The reporting party called advising dispatch of a male subject inside the business.
Deputies arrived within minutes and learned the male suspect was still inside of the business. The suspect, later identified as Rueben Rodriguez, exited the building with a backpack that contained stolen items from the business. While inside the business, Rodriguez vandalized the security system, the business upholstery and several other items. Through investigation, a search of the backpack uncovered four stolen credit card readers, two of which were identified as belonging to Zendejas Mexican Grill.
Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC459-Burglary 1st Degree, and PC459(B)(1)- Vandalism of $400 or more.
