Flood Warning until 10:40PM

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas... Nueces River At Laguna affecting Uvalde County.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Nueces River at Laguna.

* WHEN...Until late this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding reaches low water crossings on Highway 55 above Barksdale on Hackberry Creek. The Nueces River crossing at Barksdale is very dangerous. East of Camp Wood Farm to Market 337 crosses Camp Wood Creek in three places. Vehicular related drownings have occurred at all these sites.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 10.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:30 AM CDT Tuesday was 11.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.7 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late this morning. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.7 feet on 06/16/1997. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
