Deputies Arrest Two Suspects after Finding Them in Possession of Burglary Tools, Drugs and a Firearm

LOCATION: 9000 block of 7th Street, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT1: Richard Shawn Wright, age 54, resident of Ontario
SUSPECT2: Terrel Dwon Turner, age 49, resident of Moreno Valley
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, July 14, 2025, at approximately 11:06 P.M., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for service of a suspicious vehicle at the location. Two subjects were seen exiting the vehicle wearing masks and gloves, carrying items believed to be burglary tools.
Deputies arrived within minutes and contacted two subjects sitting in the described vehicle. The subjects were later identified as Richard Shawn Wright and Terrel Dwon Turner. Wright, who is a convicted felon, possessed a loaded ghost gun, multiple baggies of suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
During the investigation, deputies located two retired law enforcement badges. The badges had been stolen during a burglary reported on May 29, 2025, in Riverside. A vehicle search was conducted, and deputies located burglary tools, an industrial-sized power cutter, multiple large bolt cutters, crowbars, and a siphon pump.
Wright was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC29800(A)(1)-Felon in possession of a firearm, HS11370.1(A)-Possession of a controlled substance while armed, PC529(A)(3)-Impersonate, make others liable, PC466-Possession of burglary tools and PC496(A)-Receiving known stolen property. Turner was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC466-Possession of burglary tools, and HS11364(A)-Possession of unlawful paraphernalia.
