Meridian Police Take Wanted Fugitive Into Custody After Tactical Response
Meridian, ID – On July 15, 2025, the Meridian Police Department assisted Idaho Probation and Parole (P&P) with locating and apprehending a wanted fugitive, 43 year old male, James CHAPMAN. CHAPMAN was confirmed to be residing at a residence in the 3500 block of W. Sugar Creek in the City of Meridian.
Upon arrival, CHAPMAN was observed by officers but refused to comply with commands and barricaded in the residence. After numerous attempts to gain compliance and have CHAPMAN surrender peacefully, the Meridian/Garden City Special Tactics Group (STG) was activated due to CHAPMAN’s criminal history and known propensity for violence.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., CHAPMAN surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.
We would like to thank the Boise Police Department Special Operations Unit and the Idaho Department of Correction for their valuable assistance during this operation.
The Meridian Police Department remains committed to working with our law enforcement partners to keep our community safe.
