Eagle Harbor Drive at the head of the bay CLOSED to vehicle traffic from JULY 16-Early October
Eagle Harbor Drive NE at the head of the bay (Finch RD NE to Bucklin Hill RD NE) will be CLOSED to vehicle traffic from JULY 16 through EARLY OCTOBER for a critical culvert replacement project to support stream health and restore habitat for salmon and other fish. The project will also improve safety with widened shoulders. A pedestrian and bike bridge alongside the site will remain open.
Detour routes:
- Vehicles: Detours will be routed via Fletcher Bay Road and High School Road.
- Pedestrians and Cyclists: A temporary gangway will provide access around the east side of the site; walkers may also use Lost Valley Trail.
- Transit: Riders should visit KTTracker.com/map and select a bus route. For details about bus detours and to view rider alerts, visit kitsaptransit.com/alerts.
Businesses in the area - like Green Light Garage - will remain OPEN.
The project will improve stream health, reconnect over 3,700 feet of salmon habitat, and widen shoulders for safer travel. The full closure is necessary due to narrow work zones, deep structural tie-backs, and in-water construction that must occur during the state’s mandated summer fish window.

Thank you for your patience while we resotre habitat, improve safety, and make way for long-term salmon recovery.
