Statement From South Brunswick PBA

To Our South Brunswick Community,

On behalf of all the members of South Brunswick PBA Local 166, both past and present, I want to express our deep concern regarding the recent criminal charges brought against one of our members. This situation is serious, and I fully recognize the impact it may have on public trust. However, I want to make it unequivocally clear: the actions of one individual do not reflect the values, integrity, or dedication that our Executive Board and our fellow officers uphold in our union.

Our mission has always been to serve, protect, and support our members and the South Brunswick community with the highest standards of professionalism and accountability. The alleged behavior at the center of this investigation stands in direct contradiction to everything we embody as police officers and as a Benevolent Association.

While we are unable to comment on the specifics of an active legal matter, we reaffirm our strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. We are proud to serve every individual in our vibrant South Brunswick community. It is a privilege that we do not take lightly, and it deserves our deepest respect and unwavering dedication. The strong relationships we’ve built, along with the continued support of our residents, have empowered us to drive meaningful, lasting change both within our organization and throughout the community we are honored to protect.

As we move forward, we will continue to uphold the high standards expected of us, ensuring that our actions consistently reflect the trust placed in us by the community.

Sincerely,
Gerald Sarno, President
