Petaluma, Ca: The following is an update regarding the vehicle vs pedestrian collision which occurred on July 1, 2025 in Downtown, Petaluma.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 1:22 p.m., a vehicle collision was reported on Petaluma Blvd N near B Street. The collision involved a vehicle and 2 pedestrians. One of the pedestrians was transported to a local trauma center for injuries sustained in the collision.
Officers from the Petaluma Police Department Traffic Division responded to the scene to conduct the collision investigation. The involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. During the preliminary stages of the investigation, officers determined there was no indication alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
The Petaluma Police Department recently learned the pedestrian receiving ongoing medical care had died as a result of the injuries he sustained from the collision.
The Petaluma Police Department is working alongside the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office and the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office to complete the investigation. Due to the ongoing and active investigation, no other information is being released at this time.
