Additional Update from Aspen Square Apartments Shooting Incident 
The Janesville Police Department extends its heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones affected by the tragic shooting incident that occurred at the Aspen Square apartments on June 17th. Officers promptly responded to reports of gunfire at 2605 N. Pontiac Drive, Apartment #7.
Through the collaborative effort of the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation revealed that Jahvarius Wicks, a 21-year-old male tenant, fatally shot three individuals. Following this act, Jahvarius took his own life. One of the victims was someone with whom he had a prior domestic relationship and was present at the apartment to retrieve personal belongings.
Considering the sensitive nature of this ongoing investigation, the Janesville Police Department is unable to release any other details. We kindly request the community's understanding and respect for the privacy of those affected during this difficult time.

The Janesville Police Department’s Domestic Violence Intervention Team (DVI) works in partnership with local agencies to provide proactive support, crisis intervention, safety planning, and follow-up assistance to victims of domestic violence.
