Recovery Efforts Following July 13 Flood Event (Damage Assessments)
We’re proud to share that the City of Sonora, in partnership with the Concho Valley Council of Governments (COG), is continuing efforts to support our residents affected by the July 13th flood event.
Today, COG volunteers are in town to help assess property damage in flood-affected areas.
These volunteers will be walking around the neighborhoods, accompanied by our City of Sonora Code Enforcement Officer, Briggs Simms.
The team will also be equipped with cleaning supplies and dehumidifiers.
If your home was impacted, please take advantage of these resources. Even if water appears to be gone, moisture trapped in walls and baseboards can cause long-term issues. Dehumidifiers can help you dry your home safely and effectively.
If you’re not home during a visit, don’t worry, we will leave information with instructions on how to self-report your damage.
Need help or missed a visit?
Call the City of Sonora at (325) 387-2558 or come by City Hall at 201 E. Main Street. We’re here to help submit your assessment and ensure it reaches the state.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued community spirit.
Have a safe and good weekend!
