The City will begin the first phase of construction to install new shade structures in the playground and swing areas of ResilienCity Park on Monday, July 21.
Construction will occur in two phases. The first phase is scheduled to take place from July 21 through July 25, weather permitting, and will involve installing concrete footings and posts. During this time, the playground area will be closed 24/7, starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 21, and ending at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 25. Following the installation of the posts, the contractor will take measurements for the custom shade sails, which will be installed during the second phase later this summer.
Temporary parking restrictions will be in place on 13th Street between Jefferson Street and Madison Street. Sidewalk closures may also occur intermittently, and signage will be posted to direct pedestrians. The City encourages residents and visitors to plan accordingly and to follow all posted signage for their safety.
