| On July 17, 2025, at approximately 1:58 AM, emergency personnel from the Moorpark Police Department, Ventura County Fire Department, and American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Poindexter Avenue and Gabbert Road in the city of Moorpark. Investigators learned a black GMC SUV was traveling westbound on Poindexter Avenue when it failed to stop for the stop sign at Gabbert Road. The SUV continued through the intersection and collided with a utility pole. The driver, and sole occupant, of the SUV was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver remains in critical condition at this time. The collision is still under investigation by the Moorpark Police Department’s Traffic Bureau.
