FFWRNK The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Smyth County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until 245 AM EDT Monday.

* At 844 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Marion... Saltville... Chilhowie... Sugar Grove... Broadford... Adwolf... Thomas Bridge... This includes the following streams and drainages... Deans Branch, Dickey Creek, Locust Cove Creek, Laurel Creek, Comers Creek, Little Tumbling Creek, Little River, Hungry Mother Creek, Middle Fork Holston River, Laurel Springs Creek, Beaver Creek, Marchant Creek, Crewey Branch, Campbell Creek, East Fork Hopkins Branch and Georges Branch.
