Three Suspects Arrested for Residential Burglary
At approximately 11:30am on July 20, a citizen notified the Simi Valley Police Department that he was out of the area and observed two subjects on video surveillance in his residence in the 200 block of Goldenwood Circle. SVPD officers arrived a short time later and saw two subjects leaving the residence toward a waiting vehicle. One of the subjects was able to enter the vehicle, which was occupied by a third subject in the driver seat.
One subject was taken into custody when he was unable to escape in the getaway car. The two subjects in the getaway car led SVPD officers on a pursuit that travelled on HWY 118, off several times, and was eventually concluded in the area of the south end of Yosemite Avenue. The two other subjects were eventually taken into custody in the neighborhood after a foot pursuit and with the assistance of a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter.
During the foot pursuit an SVPD officer was injured that resulted in a fractured elbow.
The three subjects were identified as Jean Paul Gorpicco-Barbosa (21 years-old), Michael Steven Arevalo-Suarez (22 years-old), and Brian Camilo Alfanso-Pineda (23 years-old) all with Los Angeles addresses. They were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, evading, and resisting arrest resulting in a significant injury to an officer. All crimes are felonies.
