SUBJECT: Subject Charged with Armed Robbery and Motor Vehicle Theft

LOCATION: West Park Avenue 7-Eleven (Ocean Twp.) and Monmouth Road 7-Eleven (Oakhurst)
 
ACCUSED: Anthony Bowe 45 year old male of Oakhurst, NJ
 
NARRATIVE:   On July 21^st, 2025 at approximately 3:14 am, officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven convenience store located at 811 West Park Avenue for an armed robbery.  It was reported that a male suspect, who was armed with a knife, demanded that the contents of the cash register be handed over to him, threatening to stab the cashier if he did not comply.  The suspect obtained cash from the register and immediately fled the area.  Officers conducting the investigation were able to identify the suspect in this case as Anthony Bowe of Oakhurst, NJ.  While patrol units were investigating the armed robbery, dispatch received a report of a motor vehicle theft in progress at the 7-Eleven convenience store located at 45 Monmouth Road in the Oakhurst section of town.  This report involved the theft of a Mercedes Benz G63 SUV.  This vehicle was ultimately located and attempts to stop the vehicle were made by officers from various jurisdictions.  The subject failed to stop for officers and traveled through multiple jurisdictions until it traveled back into Ocean Township where it was ultimately involved in a motor vehicle crash and the suspect was apprehended.  The suspect that was taken into custody was now identified as Anthony Bowe.  Bowe was charged with Armed Robbery, Terroristic Threats, Weapons offenses, and Motor Vehicle Theft.  He was processed, later transported to an area hospital for evaluation and is awaiting remand to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending an initial court appearance.
