GTPD Media Release- 2 Homeowners & Party Organizers Charged for Having “For-Profit” House Parties at Homes in Residential Neighborhoods
Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Two Homeowners and Party Organizers Charged for Having Large “For-Profit” House Parties at Homes in Residential Neighborhoods
On Sunday, July 20, 2025, at approximately 9:20 PM, Officers responded to Vance Avenue, in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township for a call related to a large party with loud music. Arriving officers found that the resident had approximately 300 people attending a party in the rear yard of a home located in a residential neighborhood. Officers found several subjects at the entrance of the yard who were charging admission to the party. A flyer was also located promoting the event and charging admission. As attendees began exiting in large groups, they were gathering in the roadway and blocking traffic, discarding trash onto the street and sidewalks and creating a large disturbance which took Police about an hour and a half to clear the roadway.
The same night, at approximately 10:33 PM, Officers responded to Andrea Court, in the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township, for another call related to a large party, specifically with a large fight. A large amount of the same group from Vance Ave had now moved to this location and a large group was surrounding a resident’s vehicle that had struck a parked vehicle. The group was attempting to assault the driver and threw a liquor bottle at the vehicle, shattering the rear window. Police eventually dispersed the crowd, which had then moved to the local Wawa, causing another disturbance, causing Wawa to close for a period of time while the group was removed from the property.
Both residences party organizers and homeowners were issued local ordinance citations for Maintaining a Nuisance. The investigation is on-going into charges for zoning and code violations of both residences and potential charges for home occupations involving Commercial Enterprise. The Gloucester Township Public Works Litter Patrol responded to the area the next day to ensure the neighborhood was cleaned up.
The Gloucester Township Police Department highly discourages this type of large for-profit gatherings in residential neighborhood homes as they are a safety hazard and in violation of multiple State, Local and Zoning ordinances and will investigate and prosecute any and all reports of such to the fullest extent.
