| The Thousand Oaks Police Department is proud to announce “Coffee with a Cop” day. Coffee with a Cop brings deputies and community members together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about the resources, services, and needs of the community. Join us Thursday, July 31st, from 9:00am to 11:00am, at Café Ficelle, 1712 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. #C, Thousand Oaks, sharing a cup of coffee with neighbors. This month, our 911 dispatch partners from the Sheriff’s Communications Center will be joining us! This group of first responders have dedicated their careers to providing superior service to people who have a need for law enforcement assistance. In many cases, the dispatcher can make the difference between life and death. In 2024, the public safety dispatchers and dispatch supervisors at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office answered more than 249,000 telephone calls, with 102,000 of those being 9-1-1 calls. Hundreds of people depend on the skill, expertise and commitment of the dispatchers who work in public safety communications. The dispatch unit team members help save countless lives by handling emergency telephone calls, dispatching law enforcement resources, and providing moral support to people in distress. Community trust and transparency are some of the key elements to the success of the Thousand Oaks Police Department. By sitting down and having a simple conversation, deputies, and the community members they serve, can continue building and growing together. The Thousand Oaks Police Department invites the community to come out and ask questions, voice concerns, get crime prevention advice, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. This is a relaxed, informal event and is not about speeches or agendas, but simply about casual conversation. The goal of Coffee with a Cop is to get to know the community better and hear about issues the residents feel are important. Building relationships – one cup at a time. |
