SUMMARY:
On January 9, 2024, the city of Chino Hills adopted Municipal Code 10.38.010, which prohibits vehicles with more than four axles from using Carbon Canyon Road.
On July 21, 2025, at approximately 8:43 am., deputies responded to Carbon Canyon Road and Azurite Drive in reference to a semi truck blocking lanes of traffic in the "S" turns. Deputies located a five-axle semi truck and trailer blocking traffic in both directions. The semi was unable to navigate the tight turns and reportedly lost the function of the trailer brakes. A tow truck was dispatched to assist in moving the semi-truck and trailer from the roadway. Deputies diverted traffic through the surrounding neighborhoods to assist with commuter traffic. The driver, Askhat Nurcanbek, was cited and released in the field for the violation.
